THREE TOP TIPS FOR STAYING PRODUCTIVE DURING LOCKDOWN

Updated: Mar 18, 2022

During a time where we are confined to our houses and potentially unable to work on new client projects, here are few tips that I have been using to help me make the most of the time and ensure that I'm ready to go when things get back to normal.

Make plans for the future

Maybe at the beginning of the year you created a business plan for all the exciting things your company would achieve this year. Chances are that due to the outbreak of COVID-19, several of those ideas may not have come to fruition. That is not a reason to feel disheartened but a chance for you now to make some new plans and focus on what goals you want to achieve moving forward into 2021 (seems crazy to be planning that far ahead already!) Spend this time wisely thinking about exactly what aspects of your business excite you and where you envisage your company heading in the future.

Get organised

Being potentially quieter on the client front means more time to get your business organised. Maybe it's been a while since you had a good look through your website and made sure everything was up to date and all your links worked correctly. Maybe you could spend some time making sure that all your files, images etc saved to your hard drive are in the proper place and filed in a system that's easy for you to search through or maybe your home office could do with a bit of a spring clean. Whilst these jobs may not be the most glamorous, there is a huge satisfaction to be had when you've managed to complete something that you've been putting off for ages (at least that's been my experience!)

Keep learning

Chances are you've been spending a lot more time in front of your screen (I know I'm guilty of this...) instead of aimlessly scrolling, this is the perfect time to learn a new skill or expand on knowledge that will help your business. Whether it's taking a deeper dive into how to manage your finances as a freelancer or how best to pitch yourself to new clients, there is such a huge array of information available online for you to get stuck into and this is the perfect opportunity to spend some time learning skills that will help improve your business.

I hope you find some of this information handy and I would love to hear from you if there is any way I can help with giving your website or brand a bit of a refresh so it's ready to go when everything gets back to normal.
