AN INTRODUCTION

Curioco is an e-commerce gift boutique that offers customers something a little bit different. They provide a wonderful range of quality, sustainable and artisinal gifts for your loved ones and your home, with a focus on an exceptional customer experience from beginning to end. With a strong focus on natural materials and simplistic design, Curioco aim to be the ‘go-to brand’ for consumers who value the art of gift-giving and are looking for something special that is sure to spark joy.

A STRATEGIC APPROACH

We wanted Curioco's brand design to have a minimal and high quality feel, with elements of Scandinavian design incorporated in to reflect the nature of the products they stock. We wanted to steer away from the childlike quality that is commonly used in children’s brands. With simplistic and modern touches, we wanted Curioco's brand to feel elevated, but also personable and approachable.

INTENTIONAL BRAND DESIGN

The name Curioco was inspired by a combination of the word curio - a rare, unusual or intriguing object - and the idea of curated collections. With this in mind, I wanted to incorporate this theme throughout the branding. The secondary logo has been designed so that the final three letters all form a collection together and each of the additional graphics that I created are formed from simplistic shapes grouped together to form curated collections. The simplicity in the design is a nod to the Scandinavian influences that we were keen to include, as well as being similar to the simple, but beautiful, wooden toys that are a key product for Curioco.

I felt that my branding and website no longer reflected the work I was doing but I didn't know what to do about that. I was lost on where to start and short on time to research a DIY option. I was hoping to achieve a more personal, modern appearance and feel that reflects how I've evolved in the past. A website that was built with intention, instead of the organic, slightly meandering one I was using.
